Brian Micheal Bendis Defends Ultron

July 1The Age of Ultron wrapped up last month, and the fan reaction to the latest of Marvel’s seemingly never-ending event books has been mixed at best.

To summarize the mini-series (yet another “alternate present” tale in the vein of Age of Apocalypse), a future Ultron traveled to the present and Wolverine travelled back in time to kill his creator. That only makes the present worse, so Wolverine has to travel back in time to stop himself. Wolverine kills Wolverine, breaking time and space and adding Neil Gaiman’s Angela to the Marvel Universe. In the end, a big reset button was pushed for the Marvel Universe that will inevitably set up the next big event, "Infinity."

Asked by Newsarama to defend his latest changes to the Marvel Universe, writer Brian Michael Bendis said, “You can say the plot of any story, and make it sound sh*tty.”

Too true. But it sure is a lot easier when the plot of the story is sh*tty.
